The empties #2

I did an empties post a couple of months ago (LINK here), so I thought I would share with you what else I’ve been using up lately. This month it’s a fairly small collection as I’m planning to do a make-up empties soon. Here’s a run through of my empties and I’ll be answering the question – will I be buying it again?!

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser – If you saw my last empties post, you would have seen the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser make another appearance. As I said then, and as I say now – this is one of my favourite cleanser and the one revert back to when my skin is being problematic. It’s the only cleanser I have been using over the past few months so I managed to get my way through yet another bottle. Repurchase likelihood – 5/5

Garnier Micellar Water – During my evening skincare routine, I tend to use a face wipe or a micellar water to remove my makeup before going in with a proper cleanser (like the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser). Lately I have been opting to use the Garnier Micellar Water to remove my makeup, and I do really like it as it does the job. I can’t say I’m 100% loyal to this micellar water just yet as I haven’t actually tried many others out there but I do like the fact its affordable and doesn’t sting my eyes when removing my eye makeup – bonus! Repurchase likelihood – 3.5/5

Yes To Grapefruit Brightening Facial Wipes – I know not everyone is a fan of the face wipe, but for on the go – these are perfect! When I’m travelling/staying overnight somewhere, I really have to streamline my skincare routine, otherwise I would need a separate suitcase just for all the skincare bottles…! I tend to only take face wipes to remove my makeup, a cleanser and moisturizer when I’m just staying away for a day or two, but the one step I really miss is an exfoliator. These wipes however are great because not only do they remove my makeup and act as my first cleanse, they are also slightly textured to help exfoliate the skin too! Repurchase likelihood – 4/5

Original Source Coconut & Shea Butter Shower Gel – When it comes to shower gel, I’m really not fussy. I generally chose my shower gel based on whatever is on offer at the time, and this time it was the Original Source Coconut & Shea Butter Shower Gel. No a lot to say about this, only than it did the job and smelt amazing doing it! If it was on offer again, I would maybe purchase again but it’s not something I can’t live without in my shower. Repurchase likelihood – 2/5

Imperial Leather Foambust Body Wash in Sweet Vanilla & Cherry Blossom – Similar to the Original Source shower gel, the Imperial Leather Foamburst Body Wash was on offer in Superdrug so I picked it up. I was a little excited to see this body wash on offer though because I’ve tried it before and it is really lovely to use. The foamy texture make it really luxurious and a treat in shower, plus the scent it gorgeous! It a little pricey to purchase every time I need a new shower gel, but when it’s on offer I do tend to pick a couple as back up. Repurchase likelihood – 4/5

Nivea Invisible for Black & white Anti-Perspirant – Bit of an odd one to include I know, but I really do love this deodorant. I didn’t realise how much I liked it until I had to use another brand recently because this one was out of stock. I prefer the spray on the Nivea can because I find it almost softer than other, other sprays can feel quite harsh when sprayed on the skin. It is also actually invisible! Other ‘black & white safe’ deodorants still leave some marks but the Nivea says true to its word. Repurchase likelihood – 5/5

Have you used any of the above? What did you think and would you repurchase?

The empties #1

I love these empties posts! It’s great hearing people’s review on beauty products but I think the real question is always – would you buy it again? Here are my recent empties and if they will be making an appearance again in my beauty stash –

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser – this is probably my 10th empty bottle! It’s the one cleanser I will always return to because it always seems the balance out my skin when it’s being problematic. It makes my skin feel amazing and although I love testing new cleansers, I’ll definelty be repurchasing the Liz Earle Hot Cloth cleanser to keep in my stash. Repurchase likelihood – 5/5

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Serum – I really liked this serum and this is actually my 2nd bottle. I used this mainly in the winter months when my skin felt very dry and the Vichy Aqualia Thermal serum really helped with hydrating my skin. I would reccomend this however I’ve not tried many serums yet so I am keen to tests some more before settling for ‘the one’. Repurchase likelihood – 3/5

Origins Clear Improvment Active Charcoal Mask – I hadn’t tried the Origins Charcoal Mask before so I picked up a smaller bottle to try it out. This is a mask you can use once a week and it works by pulling the dirt and any environmental pollutants from your skin, unclogging all your pores leaving you with fresh clean skin. I really enjoyed using this mask and I did find any spots or blemishes I had did cleared away quicker than usual. I think next time I’ll be buying the normal sized bottle. Repurchase likelihood – 5/5

Nip + Fab Glycolic Fix Night Pads – you will recognise these from a previous blog post (LINK here) so I won’t go into too much detail here but these are great if you want to begin using acid in your skincare routine. Repurchase likelihood – 5/5 (in fact I already have because they are currently on offer in Superdrug!)

L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Conditioner – does anyone else have the same issue with always finishing the conditioner before the shampoo?! I always do, as you can probably tell from these empties. I did a post on then new L’Oreal Clay range (LINK here) but would I repurchase? Probably not! I love the idea of this range but I think all the work comes from the Clay pre shampoo mask so I would buy the mask again but I probably won’t bother with the shampoo and conditioner. Repurchase likelihood – 1/5

TRESemme Beauty-Full Volume Pre Wash Conditioner – oh look, another conditioner! Again, I recently wrote my thoughts on the new TREMSemme Beauty-Full Volume range, so if you want to know more follow the link (LINK here). The thing I was most annoyed at is, when this shampoo and conditioner was first released, the shampoo was 500ml but conditioner was only 290ml. It might mean that you don’t need much conditioner for this treatment but I still need a good amount to get through my notty hair and now I’m still left just a part used bottle of shampoo…! I did however like the way it made my hair felt so I would maybe repurchase once they start selling a larger conditioner. Repurchase likelihood – 2/5
