Monthly Favourites: May 2018

It’s been a very busy month for me with attending two weddings and a festival, plus the weather has been amazing! I feel like I’ve lived out of a suitcase all of this month, staying away every weekend for all the events I’ve attended. Starting in Southampton for the first wedding, then up towards London for my best friend’s wedding the following weekend, ending May in Portsmouth at a festival. And the sun has been shining through-out which has been wonderful. With the travelling and the heat, there have been a few favourite products which have stood out for me this month, so here are my May favourites:

John Frieda Fizz Ease Serum – I brought this back in October before I headed on holiday to Tenerife because as soon as I go on holiday, I get a solid case of Monica’s Barbados hair! The John Frieda Frizz Ease Serum is the only thing that will help manage my hair in the heat and with the sun making a rare appearance over the UK this past month, this has saved me from a few bad hair days. I use two small pumps on my wet hair before blow drying and it tames my hair from frizz for the next couple of days before washing it again.

Spiral Hair Ties – I only found these spiral hair ties last year and I love them! Similar theme to the above product, managing my hair in this heat is a mission! As soon as it gets warms the hair needs to go up in a bun on top of my head. These hair ties are amazing at holding your hair up in a bun without causing too much tension, pulling at the scalp. They also don’t leave any ridges in my hair either so I can easily take my hair down without any panic of needing to grab the straighteners.

Charlotte Tilbury Instant Look In A Palette – Living out of a suitcase for most of the month has meant living with a streamlined make-up bag. This wonderful little palette from Charlotte Tilbury however has made life so much easier. In just one small palette you get three eyeshadow colours, two blush shades plus a bronzer and highlighter. Apart from your base (foundation and concealer), mascara and an eyebrow product, I’ve not needed much else! The quality of the products are great too, with amazing colour pay-off and longevity.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Moisture-Protect Emulsion – I picked this up at the beginning of the month and used it every day since. The Body Shop is really upping their game this year – my favourite Body Shop products post coming soon! This moisturizer has everything I want in a morning face product in one – Vitamin E and Wheatgerm Oil to help with the texture of my skin and helping with some scarring I have, Hyaluronic Acid for a big dose of hydration, plus SPF 30 to protect my skin in this gorgeous weather we have been having. It’s a gorgeous, light moisturizer for the mornings and I would really recommend if you are looking for a new daily SPF.

Your Good Skin Nourishing Hot Cloth Cleanser – If you follow me on Instagram, you will have seen I’ve been enjoying the new Hot Cloth Cleanser from Your Good Skin. So much so that this might even replace my beloved Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser…and you know how much I love that cleanser! I will review this in more detail very soon and do a more detailed comparison to the Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanser, but what I will say is this is great and would recommend checking out if you are on the hunt for a new cleanser.

Hope you have all had a lovely May! What are your favourite products of May?
